POLLS CLOSE FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT. VOTE NOW!

Monday, May 11

After counting a total of 5,300 votes, Wiwi Bloggs is rather sad to report that an overwhelming majority of voters (58%) want Greek heartthrob Sakis Rouvas to finish last. However, that figure has fallen nine percentage points since last Friday, in part because of an increasing distaste for Turkey’s Hadise (4%), Germany’s Oscar Loya (3%) and the United Kingdom’s Jade Ewen (3%). Other countries in the Top Ten (well, Bottom Ten in this case) were: Armenia, Spain, Norway, France and Finland (3%), and the Czech Republic (2%).

Wiwi has no doubt that Greece and Turkey remain strong contenders to win Eurovision this year. But their rivalry has prompted their fans to vote against the opposing pop star, totally skewing these results. Germany or the U.K. coming last? That’s more like it. . .

What do you think? Vote below and take a look at the most up-to-date results.

After counting an additional 3,000 votes over the past three days, Wiwi Bloggs can now reveal that his readers want Greece’s Sakis

Rouvas to finish last at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. On Monday the sexy Greek lothario claimed 32% of the vote. By Thursday evening that figure had swelled to 67%. Armenia’s sister act from Inga and Anush remains in second with 3% of the vote, while the Czech Republic’s Gipsy.cz has come from nowhere to occupy third position. Other countries with the dubious honor of making the Top 10 were: Norway, France, Finland, Spain, United Kingdom, Cyprus and perennial loser Germany.

Monday, May 4

After three days and nearly 1,000 votes, Wiwi Bloggs’ readers have decided that Greece’s Sakis Rouvas should finish last at the Eurovision Song Contest. Greece received a shocking 32% of all votes, placing him ahead of Armenia (9%), Turkey (4%), Moldova and Switzerland (3%), and Malta and France (2%). Germany, who both bookies and Wiwi Bloggs have predicted will finish last, received just 20 votes (2%). Denmark was the only nation that no one voted against.

These surprising results may reflect the ongoing rivalry between Turkish and Greek voters. Turks may have voted against Greece here because they see him as a threat: he is currently second in Wiwi’s poll to determine who will win Eurovision. At the same time, Greek voters, angry that Greece trails Turkey in that poll, may be taking their revenge with this poll. Wiwi seriously doubts that either of these nations will finish last. Hello: did anyone see the Czech Republic or Montenegro at rehearsals?

Germany: Better not smile yet

Germany: Better not smile yet

We’re all curious to know who will win Eurovision. But where there are winners there are also plenty of losers. Bookies seem certain that Germany will finish at the bottom of the heap, though they  think that France, Ireland, Russia, Croatia or—gasp—Malta could challenge for the bottom spot. Who do you think will be the biggest loser at Eurovison?
