Junior Eurovision 2007 Documentary 5
Last night Wiwi saw Sounds Like Teen Spirit, a fantastic documentary about the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. It follows four acts—from Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Georgia—as they prepare for and compete at the 2007 competition in Rotterdam. Some of the performances are totally over-the-top (think Ukraine’s Svetlana Lobodova but younger), but all of them are LOL entertaining. And you learn about the difficulties the kids have overcome in qualifying for the contest (one girl lives in an impoverished housing project in Gori, another girl has lost her father, and the kid from Cyprus is constantly teased). You’ll laugh and you’ll cry and you’ll totally thank Wiwi for recommending it!
