Eurovision First Semi-Final Prediction 8
Wiwi is seriously going to wet himself. Only ten of 18 countries will advance from tonight’s semi-final to the May 16 finale. Nine of those spots will go to the highest scorers in a live tele-vote. The remaining spot will go to the country that receives the highest jury score among the remaining entries. Based on the 14,000 votes cast in Wiwi’s totally scientific and ongoing Eurovision poll, the nine countries advancing to the final after the tele-vote will be:
Turkey's Hadise
(1) Turkey
(2) Romania
(3) Malta
(4) Armenia
(5) Portugal
(6) Sweden
(7) Iceland
(8) Finland
(9) Bosnia & Herzegovina
Wiwi suspects that Switzerland or Montenegro will qualify as the jury’s pick. Switzerland’s Lovebugs are already stars. The producers that make up that jury won’t be able to ignore their marketability or their previous success—and Wiwi suspects Eurovision producers will push the jury to advocate stars in the name of boosting May 16 ratings. As for Montenegro, Wiwi thinks the backup dancer kinda sizzles. And the song is really catchy.

I really, really liked FYR Macedonia, too. I think the vote got split because of Bosnia’s song. Ugh. Next year!
