Andrew Lloyd Webber, Phantom of the Opera, TIME coverBritish composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

According a statement released by his spokesperson on Oct. 25: “Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year.” The 61-year old composer is set to judge a BBC talent show early next year, but further details have not been revealed.

Best known for his musicals which include Evita and The Phantom of the Opera, Lloyd Webber spearheaded the search for the U.K.’s 2009 Eurovision representative Jade Ewen on the program Your Country Needs You. It is unclear whether the talent show he will host for the BBC will be a follow-up to that program. Oddsmakers currently have it at 33:1 that Lloyd Webber will be involved in selecting Britain’s rep this year.

Wiwi wishes Andrew the best and has his fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
