Love Generation Downsizes to Three, Gears Up for Melodifestivalen 2012 3

Wiwi and Vebooboo love animals, so it was only natural that we fell in love with Love Generation at least year’s Melodifestivalen semi-final in Malmo: they were each dressed in a form-fitting penguin suit! The multi-racial group reminiscent of a Bennetton ad sang their up-tempo song ‘Dance Alone’ and in the end just narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Final.  We almost cried, and so did they.

But that was last year.  This year there wasn’t enough love to go around, so the group has downsized to three.  According to the remaining trio, “Mikaela wanted to focus more on school and take life at a different pace.  She felt done and it was good that she was honest about it.”  So that leaves Cornelia Jakobsdotter, Charly Q and Melanie Taylor hoping for an even more successful run than last year.  Are they worried that they’ll seem incomplete?  Well, kind of.  As the group explains: “We have grown so much and hope people don’t notice that we are one less. We give so much energy nevertheless. This last year we have become a much more united entity…”

And the girls have one big supporter on their side: RedOne.  The Swedish-Moroccan producer—famous for his work with the likes of Lady GaGa, J.Lo and Eurovision’s own Alexey Vorobyov—has produced the group’s song ‘Just a Little Bit.’  “We only work with him, he writes all our songs.  He’s our founder, producer, publisher, mentor, everything!” explains Charly Q.

We will have to wait a few months to see exactly what the girls have planned, but they have already promised another big show.  ”It will be a happy slap in the face,” they say. ” The song and the show are equally important and can’t live without one another.  We are going to offer a crazy show!” We wonder if Mikaela will be watching…
