Reidun Sæther, the Carburetors, and Nora Foss Al-Jabri have advanced from the first Melodi Grand Prix semi-final in Ørland. They’ll compete in the February 11 final against six other acts who advance from the semis on January 28 and February 4.

You can listen to the first three finalists below. Reidun has some serious vocals. Her song “High on Love” is a true Carola power ballad and showcases her talent really well. You better work! The Carbuetors, who are singing a greasy rock song called “Don’t Touch the Flame,” appear to have emerged as media darlings in Norway despite only wearing black. NRK asked if they were the favorites ahead of tonight’s semi-final. And Nora Foss Al-Jabri, who is only 15, has already performed on the Oprah Winfrey Show. That’s a sign of greatness, no doubt!

Reidun Sæther – High on love (Music and lyrics: Thomas G:Son, Tommy Berre, Ovi)

The Carburetors – Don’t touch the flame (Music: Stian Krogh, Christopher Lindahl. Lyrics: Christopher Lindahl, Per Gunnar Lund-Vang)

Nora Foss Al-Jabri – Somewhere beautiful (Music and lyrics: Christian Ingebrigtsen, Eivind Rølles)
