Melodifestivalen 2012: Results of ‘Tredje Chansen,’ Semi-Final #1 0

The web voting results from the first semi of SVT’s Third Chance contest (for previous Melodifestivalen entries that did not make the final) have been revealed. We aren’t all that surprised.  Velvet’s The Queen, an amazing song which definitely should have made it to Globen back in 2009, and Pain of Salvation’s “Road Salt” (2010) made it through comfortably.  ”Try Again” from last year’s competition will have to do just that in the Final Chance, as will “What Difference Does it Make.”

 The complete results are below:

The start field for this week’s semi has also just been announced, and it has some good songs.  In particular, two very popular songs from 2007 that didn’t make it through are pitted against one another in this heat — “La Musica” by Verona and “Live Forever” by Magnus Carlsson, former Alcazar star.  Will Verona’s short short skirt beat out Magnus’ high-pitched voice?  You decide!

  • La Musica – Verona (Melodifestivalen 2007)
  • God Morgon – Uno & Irma (Melodifestivalen 2007)
  • Elektrisk – Anniela (Melodifestivalen 2011)
  • Live Forever – Magnus Carlsson (Melodifestivalen 2007)
  • Gone – Bodies Without Organs (Melodifestivalen 2005)
  • Just like a boomerang – Andrés Esteche (Melodifestivalen 2003)
  • Sucker for love – Pauline (Melodifestivalen 2010)
  • Love in stereo – Ola (Melodifestivalen 2008)
