“Waterline” lyrics — Jedward (Eurosong 2012, Ireland) 13
Jedward have released their 2012 Eurovision entry “Waterline.” You can listen to the song and read the lyrics below. What do y’all think?
Flood gates, can’t wait
Here she comes, shut’em fast
Better shut’em fast
Too late, swept away
Feel the rush after the fact
Coming up beneath me
Never been in love so
Deeply before
I am close to the waterline
I thought that I’d been over my head
For the last time
I’m so close to the waterline
And the way I’m loving her now
I know this is bound to go down as the big one.
Whistle blast, lights flash
Throw a rope, grab a hold
Feel the undertow
She laughs, waves crash
What’s the use I can’t let her go
Coming up beneath me
Never been in love so
Deeply before
I am close to the waterline
I thought that I’d been over my head
For the last time
I’m so close to the waterline
And the way I’m loving her now
I know this is bound to go down as the big one.
Flood gates, can’t wait
Here she comes, shut’em fast
Better shut’em fast
Too late, swept away
Feel the rush
I am close to the waterline
And the way I’m loving her now
I know this is bound to go down as the one
I am close to the waterline
I thought that I’d been over my head
For the last time
I’m so close to the waterline
And the way I’m loving her now
I know this is bound to go down as the big one.

The Wiwi Jury Reviews Jedward's "Waterline" (Ireland) | WiwiBloggs.Com
Mar 09, 2012 @ 23:50:43
[...] “Waterline” demonstrates a real maturation in their sound. The song doesn’t rely on the digitized antics of “Lipstick,” and it forces the boys to grapple with their own voices, which have definitely moved in the right direction since last year. The lyrics tell a story—essentially that love is overwhelming—and the overall package smacks of Blink 182. And while “Waterline” may lack the shock value of “Lipstick,” it does get stuck in your head—which is crucial when you have just three minutes to court televoters. But I’m not awarding a score based on any of that. I’m raiting this song highly because it makes me happy. I’m hoping Europe feels the same way. [...]

@Deban: you are so right. Sounds like A1, McFly, C21…but I like it. Not as much as “Lipstick” though.
What Jedward lack in vocal identity, they make up for in production and branding. Looking forward to a Jedtastic performance. “…this is bound to go down as the big one”

I think that jedward will blame louie and linda if they dont win the eurovision cause they told their fans they dont lile the song as much as “Whats your number “its a good song “waterline” john and Edward dont like it

I agree with you Deban, however, there must be other equally good or better talent that Ireland can produce. Two years in a row is one too many.

Very A1-esque (UK/Norwegian boyband). I love this entry. It’s buzzing, dancey and a slight change in direction from Lipstick….I hope it does well. Regardless of the outcome, I’ll be buying the single anyway.
