“Euro-neuro” Lyrics — Rambo Amadeus (Montenegro, ESC 2012)

On March 15 Rambo Amadeus unveiled his Eurovision entry “Euro-neuro.” As you can read in the lyrics below, the song calls on Europeans to work together to solve pressing issues facing the continent, and to lessen the bureaucracy of institutions like the European Union. The lyrics frequently allude to the ongoing European debt crisis, and they suggest poorer countries need help from the wealthier ones. Hello, European bailout funds: “Need contribution from the institution/ to find solution for pollution.” That pollution, no doubt, includes toxic debts. The video plays off the gap between rich and poor, urban and rural, developed and underdeveloped by juxtaposing a man on a donkey next to hot young things in sports cars. What do y’all think of the song? A witty take on Europe’s problems? Or just annoying?

For high position in competition
With air condition
Different mission, different school
I got only one rule
Always stay cool
