Deban: “Suus” melds folk, jazz, easy listening, world music and ballad forms in a magical way. And Rona Nishliu’s minimalist staging manages to encapsulate the aura and the emotions she has woven into her vocal art. Although the camera angles are nowhere near perfection, let us remember that it’s only the very first rehearsal. Things will get tidier as we progress. Rona needs to chill though, and use the rehearsals as a marker of things to come. She should save her ‘ALL’ for the semi finals.

Wiwi: When you have a voice as big as Rona Nishliu’s you don’t need over-the-top staging to leave an impression. Her voice does that all on its own. I’m happy to say that her managers understand that: the staging is simple and crisp, and allows Rona to be the star. I’m looking forward to seeing the actual camera angles at the second rehearsal. But it’s clear the red lighting and spot lights will be used to great effect. If you can’t get enough of Rona, then check out our interview with her at Eurovision in Concert from last month.
