Deban: Anmary’s “Beautiful Song” has improved a lot since February. The official music video played a part in this. Also, Anmary has been on the road non-stop, and the familiarity of her tune has helped in shaping my listening preferences. With regards to the staging here, the simple choreography helps. However, why couldn’t she choose a more suitable backdrop? Where are the photos of Johnny Logan, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger? Honestly, the imagery doesn’t propel the story, and it’s far too repetitive for my taste.
Wiwi: Perhaps we should change the title to, “A More Beautiful Song.” The Wiwi Jury absolutely hated this song when we first saw footage from the Latvian final. But as Deban rightly points out, it has grown on us as she’s improved her staging. Thank goodness she dropped those childish “Eurovision Times” newspapers that her back-up dancers held on stage at the national final! But the random yellow and blue and red floating images add absolutely nothing. If anything they slightly distract from the beauty that is Anmary. Also, I’m fairly certain this is impromptu choreography. If the Latvian team actually paid someone to teach them these dance moves, they need a refund. Immediately.

How funny, i watched the video before reading your comments and thought too, that the backdrop was WAY to distracting. Completely pulls your attention off the singer and on the bizarre collage that they came up with. Need to tone it down so you focus on her.
