Spain’s Pastora Soler

Vebooboo: Pastora Soler must have been a construction worker in a previous life, because girl knows how to build drama! At first I was slightly worried when I saw Pastora hugging her microphone and doing nothing else on the stage, but then the song builds and she brings out her entourage and a bucket-load of emotion to finish off ‘Quedate conmigo’. With this type of performance, I think the song is gonna remain in people’s minds for sure. It won’t win, but it’s gonna do mighty good for a country which hasn’t done anything memorable in years.

Deban: If that was a rehersal, then, there is no need for Pastora Soler to make an appearance in the jury final. The outtakes from this performance would be enough. Pastora comes from the tradition where vocal delivery is the most important quality in any production. Although I do not speak a single word of Spanish, I understood her completely. Good music should do just that. She communicated every emotion, and I felt her pain. The backdrop is picture perfect, and the rousing finish helped by five backing singers was the best move both visually and audibly. Spain should do well. Spain MUST do well!
