Sweden’s Loreen will win Eurovision 2012 in a landslide, but Romania’s Mandinga and Albania’s Rona Nishliu remain outside threats. That’s according to Wiwi’s readers, who cast a total of 20,299 votes in our poll to determine this year’s winner.
The “Euphoria” singer, who has done a good job hiding her back-up singers this year, earned 3,032 votes. That puts her well ahead of second-place finisher Mandinga from Romania. They earned 2,538 after recording a special message for Wiwi’s readers on YouTube. Albania’s Rona Nishliu, who gave wiwibloggs a fantastic interview yesterday, has jumped all the way to third with 1,551 votes.
Below you will find two charts. The first lists the final standings for the grand final. The second chart includes eliminated contestants. Interestingly, Sofi Marinova—the one you might have mistakenly thrown dollar bills at—finished in 13th place, the highest of any eliminated contestant. Spain’s Pastora Soler finished ninth, making her the most successful of this year’s Big Five.
