“Stay With Me” Lyrics — Pastora Soler (Original: Quedate Conmigo)

Pastora Soler—Spanish Eurovision goddess and ultimate ballad diva—has finally released “Stay with Me”, the English-language version of her Eurovision entry “Quédate Conmigo.” We’re sad to report that a lot of the fabulousness of the original has been lost in translation. We don’t like the repetition of “you can show me heaven” as much as we loved the repetition of “quédate conmigo.” And we most certainly do not like English-as-a-second-language moments like, “I never meant to lose your heart.” In any case, you can judge for yourself by listening to the song and then reading the lyrics below.

 As we previously reported, Pastora chose to translate the song into English to capitalize on her success at Eurovision. “I want to perform my song in English because although the song is in Spanish, after Eurovision some non-Spanish countries have the song in the top of the charts,” she said recently. “The song is having a great reception on iTunes, and for me it is very important to translate the message.”
