Six countries selected their Eurovision 2013 contestants and song in 2012. We asked you to vote for your favourite early national selection winner in our poll. After counting more than 400 votes, we can now reveal that Zlata Ognevich is defying gravity and rising straight to the top of your hearts.

The “Gravity” singer captured 117 votes, or around 28% of the total. On one of our comments pages, reader John Browdy describes the song as “super” and “amazing.” And Joyces says it reminds her of something out of “The Lion King.”

Not everyone was so keen. Responding to a reader who loves the song despite its weak lyrics, Magga writes:

Wow, no disrespect but if the songs Gravity by Zlata and Hero by swedish botox woman [Charlotte Perrelli] are terrific in your opinion then I really don’t want to be at a party where you are the DJ…

Despite various allegations of plagiarism, Albania’s Adrian & Bledar came second. Belgium’s Roberto Bellarosa finished last. Writing on our lyrics page, reader Emily had little time for the “Love Kills” singer. “This is worst than last year,” she says, “and I hated Iris.” Ouch.

You can listen to all of this year’s selected entries on our Contestants Page.

She should sing this song in her own language…I think it make the song better, and make her more comfortable! I think She choose english so people know what She is singing about, but If her english is not good, it has no point to do it in english, the song is strong enough to sing it in her own language.

Looks right to me 🙂
Albania, Switzerland, Belarus essentially tied depending on priorities.
Lithuania being characteristically awkward in its own minority taste universe.
