Eurovision covers frequently induce nausea, especially when they involve contestants from the Azeri national selection or aspiring pop stars on the X Factor in Hungary or Romania. But Iceland’s Aslaug Fjola shows that covering a popular song doesn’t always have to end in disaster.

Almanakut Brasil, one of wiwibloggs’ readers, kindly e-mailed the following “Euphoria” cover by the Icelandic singer. Is it an “everlasting work of art”? And how does it stack up with the other “Euphoria” covers you’ve heard?

Glennis Grace’s is the best! Besides the fact that she can actually speak English, she has the best voice also.

Glennis Grace’s is the best cover I’ve seen, it comes very close to the original. Although no one has Loreen’s je ne sais quoi.

Her voice is ok, but it seems like she mixed up the lyrics for the song a bit. (repeating “Reaching for infinity” twice, mixing up verses) I agree with Zolan, Kollisionen is the best cover in my opinion, same with Maria Rock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0Lo9cQfI9Y

I’m with takecare, Julia Plaksina was better : watch?v=3hn28JljTwM

There are a few decent _vocal_ covers around, but full covers are more interesting.

Kollisionen is the best I’ve found : watch?v=ngH9LBLpN_k
