The team at wiwibloggs are totally impressed by our readers! Y’all are on fire with these national selection prediction polls. Last night you correctly predicted Emmelie de Forest would win Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2013 with her song “Only Teardrops”.

What’s more, y’all also predicted that Simone and Mohamed would place in the top three and compete in the superfinal. Totes amazeballs.

This follows your correct predictions about the top two acts to advance from each UMK semi-final in Finland. (We won’t discuss how y’all got it wrong in Iceland…we all have off days…)

As for Emmelie of the Forest, we’re pretty sure that isn’t her real name. It’s just too fitting for a woman who seems to think she is a wood nymph. She’ll need to up her game if she wants to compete in Eurovision’s Next Top Model this year. I’m also curious if she borrowed her recorder from Zeljko Joksimovic. I bet she creeps out the dude playing the recorder when she stares into his eyes at the 2:16 mark in this video. Creeeeepy.

Whenever I hear “Only Teardrops” I think the song sounds like some hybrid of the Indigo Girls and Eimear Quinn from Eurovision ’96. Given that Eimear won Eurovision, she’s in good company!

Emmelie de Forest is her real name, you can get away with those weird names when you are of blue blood.

Of course we couldn’t predict Island’s qualifiers! It’s like they randomly picked the qualifiers. I’m hoping for Birgitta or Magni but I’m surely not sure that they will go to malm:o

Perhaps strangely, the resemblance that first struck me was with Shakira’s “Wherever, Whenever”

The songs a bit dated and very predictable eurovision. However a couple of the other Danish entries have just given me the best work out of the year… The other muscle pumpers at the gym looked sufficiently jealous or bermused at my routines in the mirrors with “im not alone” and “we are the universe” on my iPod. They so wanted a listen. Denmark… Bit of a dreary song but I guess a strong entry.
