It will be decided by the Irish rather than the internet, but I have picked up an impression that Ireland has a fondness for the USA that may well extend to John Mellencamp’s music, so Inchequin is still a realistic possibility.
Perhaps someone will set me straight on that.

Nevertheless, I’ll just note that Ireland and Azerbaijan are not competing against each other in the semi-finals.

Crashing Down is probably the worst of a bad selection, the lyrics are similar to a song I wrote to a girlfriend in primary school…boring melody, yawn and cringe! You got to wonder how it got into the final five but then again real songwriters don’t enter Eurosong. That said, Aimme does a decent job on it and never rule out the teenage youtube vote. My guess is Kiss Me will win it but if Inchequin get through they will get the huge Turkish vote

I suspect that the huge lead of the Inchequin “song” is given by Turkish fans of Eurovision? Otherwise it doesn’t make much sense. 99% of the comments on the video on YouTube are in Turkish…

I voted for “Fire”, in spite of that unfortunate lyric, haha.

Quite a weak NF in my opinion, but Aimee Fitzpatrick is clearly the best option – a classy, if woefully conventional ballad.

I’m actually preferring the male teen-idol type, Ryan Dolan based on these previews, which is unusual for me. I also believe it’s the most competitive choice for ESC.

“Crashing Down” is a respectable entry, but a bit of a dirge with little charm.
Not a fan of Inchequin’s rock-country style.
The two girls’ dance songs are not special, and even these studio versions don’t inspire confidence in their live ability.

I can’t believe I said “I can’t decided”. Shameful stuff. I speak English, I swear.

I can’t decided between Crashing Down and Fire, although I think on the night Only Love Survives will win. I feel like Ryan Dolan will top the public vote (residual Jedward preteen girl voters) and be 2nd/3rd with the jury. I do like his song but since the 5 songs were revealed, only Zoe’s and Aimée’s have left a real impression on me. Not sure how well received Crashing Down will be as it doesn’t build to climax like a good Eurovision ballad should (Quédate Conmigo all the way!) and then there’s the very real possibility that Zoe will not… Read more »
