Read the lyrics to “Begging”—Anton Ewald’s Melodifestivalen entry—and let us know what you think. We’re pretty horrified that Sweden sent this through to the final. It’s rather obvious they voted for his cheekbones and not for his voice! (Which wasn’t actually his voice. Hello backing vocals…)

Girl I can feel a tremor
through my body
Inside my heart is speeding
beating faster
Im running out of time
I see youre leaving
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling.

I stumble fall and
nearly start a fire
I act a fool I merely
barely make it
I take your hand and now
my bodys shaking
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou

Baby dont go
Oh.o.o.o.o.oh
Youve got me
Begging, begging
Got me begging for more
I wont let go
Oh.o.o.o.o.oh
Youve got me
Begging, begging
Got me begging for more.

Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Youve got me
Begging baby
Got me begging for more
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Youve got me
Begging baby
Got me begging for more.

Im on my knees and
ready for your answer
Youve got me falling
calling out your
name
I cant control the way
My bodys moving
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling

Baby dont go
Oh.o.o.o.o.oh
Youve got me
Begging, begging
Got me begging for more
I wont let go
Oh.o.o.o.o.oh
Youve got me
Begging, begging
Got me begging for more.

Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Youve got me
Begging baby
Got me begging for more
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Youve got me
Begging baby
Got me begging for more.

No doubt about it
Youre the one for me
No doubt about it
Breaking up is crazy
I feel my body wants
Your body now
Im gonna make you stay
Somehow

Yeah, Yea
Yea
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou..u..u..u..u..u
Lets go

Baby dont go
Oh.o.o.o.o.oh
Youve got me
Begging, begging
Got me begging for more
I wont let go
Oh.o.o.o.o.oh
Youve got me
Begging, begging
Got me begging for more.

Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Youve got me
Begging baby
Got me begging for more
Ahou what a feeling
Ahou what a feeling
Youve got me
Begging baby
Got me begging for more
Begging

I wanted Cookies ‘n Beans and Erik & Tone to advance. But the first one didn’t have a chance, really, and Erik & Tone..well. They’re much better than the two songs that did advance.

At least Sweden isn’t following the trend of 95% of other countries this year, and their final is a bunch of guys, and not girls singing either a ballad or a Euphoria try hard version. Eurovision needs the young male, even if it comes as YOHIO. This is a great final, considering whoever goes through, including Only The Dead Fish, will not be like any artist chosen yet. Such a shame that Estonia didn’t choose Winny Poo, cause what this years ESC desperatley needs is variety. There is no point of EBU choosing what song gets played when, if the… Read more »

Mmm. I agree that Anton doesn’t have the talent of his predecessors–neither his voice nor the song are especially brilliant–but the song was number one on iTunes for a little while and is still selling super well (#3 on the charts). It’s not *just* his looks, to be completely fair. Sweden seems to like the song, even if a lot of other people don’t.

Both songs that went through in Sweden were rubbish. I suppose that because I am not a teenager or a girl, I am not voting for pimply looking young boys.

The winner of the Melodifestivalen was already in the final and SVT/the phone company are just making more revenue by beating a dead donkey.

I’d rather have international juries made of 14 year old girls than to see Ulrik win Melodifestivalen. Seriously, there have been so many songs with “I can/will/should/would change the world” theme, I got to love this world the way it is. As Caroline is out, my favourite is YOHIO. All the way! That guy on the ‘bed on fire’ would is pretty great and I wouldn’t mind him winning. Anton is my third choice. Robin… Then, the lady with only ‘the dead fish follow the stream’. David. And Sean, for the fun of it. Any other winner takes Sweden off… Read more »

@ Marcio

14 year-old girls are the only people who vote in Melodifestivalen it seems.

I really hope that Ulrik win this year. The song is good and the music is really cool. I hate that svt placed him first in the startup sequence in the final and YOHIO last … I trust that the foreign jury has good taste in music tho´.

Well he can dance. But then again this isn’t a dance contest. Regardless, we all know that Ulrik Munther has the contest in the bag, so andra chansen doesn’t matter

I have a feeling that only 14-year-old girls voted tonight. Awful.
