Eurovision Artists Topping iTunes Charts Already

From Marco Mengoni in Italy to Anouk in the Netherlands, Eurovision artists are sitting pretty and at the top of the charts.

Here’s a brief rundown of the artists currently enjoying downloads success.

Italy: Marco Mengoni, the Italian singer who has dropped hundreds of pounds in recent years, has seen his number “L’essenziale” reach #1. He won the Sanremo Festival with the song, but it’s still unclear if he will sing it at Eurovision in Malmo.

The Netherlands: Wiwibloggs’ readers have almost universally applauded Anouk’s “Birds”, and we’re all pretty certain this will be the first Dutch song in, like, forever to make the Eurovision final. It’s currently #1 in Holland and sits above songs by Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and P!nk. Work it, Anouk!

Sweden: Who’s at number one? It’s you-o-o-o-o, Robin Stjernberg! The “You” singer, who almost missed making the final in Sweden altogether, is on top, followed by fellow Melodifestivalen contestants Anton Ewald (#4), YOHIO (#6), Sean Banan (#7), and Ulrik Munther (#10). Robin is also #10 in Finland, which makes him the only Eurovision contestant to chart outside of his own country.

Norway: She may have been the victim of online bullying, and she may only have finished second in Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix, but the beautiful Adelen is currently at #2 in Norway with her song “Bombo”. She was #3 at the start of the week, so the release of her official music video yesterday likely gave her a bump. Norway’s actual Eurovision contestant Margaret Berger is currently #10 with her song “I Feed You My Love”.
