Italy’s Marco Mengoni

In recent years the Big 5—those countries with deep pockets who automatically qualify for the final—have really brought it. From Germany’s Lena to Spain’s Pastora Soler, the Big 5 is now synonymous with the Top 10. Add to that the host nation, whose contestant won the previous year, and you’ve got six automatic qualifiers for the final who can threaten for the Eurovision trophy.

But which automatic qualifier is your favourite this year? Will Cascada stomp her way past Bonnie Tyler? Will Amandine Bourgeois’s unique brand of crazy take her further than El Sueno de Morfeo’s enchanting Celtic vibe? Or will Marco Mengoni’s Army of Fans help him bulldoze through his older rivals?

Let us know in the poll below and then sound off in our comments section. Please note: You can vote for as many contestants as you would like, but you will be blocked from voting more than one time. Be sure to click the name next to each contestant you want to support before pressing submit.

I predict: 1 Romania (enchanting performance by Cezar <3), 2 Belgium, 3 Iceland, 4 Ukraine, 5 Norway

I hope I'm right! I don't mind as long as Romania wins..cause that's something really special this year!

I love them all. I’m very, very happy pretty much all members of the Big 5 (or should I say, 6) are now making much more of an effort than say, three or four years ago.

Since Germany cutted an important part that was a greater part of the appeal of the song, my vote goes to France.

-France
-Germany
-Italy
-Sweden
-UK
-Spain

Italy, thank you for returning in this contest! This year Marco Mengoni helps me forget I’m watching a music “pageant”. His simple and relaxed act, doubled by an amazing voice, it’s not only the greatest from the six automatic qualifiers, but in the entire show!

Which one we like best? Or which one we think will win? I think Germany will do the best of the big 5 – the only one that will make the top 10.

Spain is blah and U.K. is a train wreck.

France is very eccentric and dark – Sounds very good to me.. And I certainly can hear the quality in Italy…But I have such a weak spot for Spain.. It is such a sweet and lovely song.. I fell in love with it, just as I fell in love with Portugal 2009 (Flor-de-lis)

France and Germany are very solid and Italy grew up on me lately. The rest is a pile of shit that does not deserve to be in the final!

I have no idea.

I love Sweden best, yet UK is also great, but hey, there’s that sexy Italian guy too, and that crazy French chic 😀 love them all

France for me too – but I do like Germany, Italy and the UK too – but France is exceptional.
