Gianluca Bezzina returned from Eurovision with the best result Malta has seen since 2005, and his song “Tomorrow” charted in countries throughout Europe including The Netherlands, U.K. and Ireland. The result was somewhat surprising considering that Gianluca is a medical doctor rather than a professional singer. But when evil critics who love to hate described it as “the feel good song of Malmö”, you knew a Top 10 finish was deserved!
Today Gianluca surprised his fans by announcing that he plans to release a debut album in the near future. He also revealed that, in between treating bronchitis and other assorted infections, he somehow managed to record and release a new singled called “I’ll be there.” Let’s have a listen.
The Michael Buble trumpets give “I’ll be there” a different flavour from “Tomorrow”—where is the ukulele? But fans of his Eurovision single will surely embrace this new release. Gianluca’s unique voice makes his new single as jolly as his first, and it channels the same feel good vibes we all hope for in a Gianluca track. It could help the crankiest old cow get her happy back!
