The team at wiwibloggs.com loves a good makeover. If you saw the Eurovision contestants before the semi-finals you’d truly appreciate all the spraypaint deployed to get them stage-ready. This year DR won’t just be touching up the singers: it’ll be transforming the rundown B&W Hallerne into a functioning music venue, and turning Refshaleøen into an island fit for a song contest. For the first time ever the Eurovision arena is going to be a destination in its own right!

To learn more about DR’s plans to revitalize the island, you can visit Eurovision.tv. To see how rundown this island is, simply watch the video below. There is something really eerie about watching life in an industrial wasteland zone set to Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”. Is EuroClub going to be in an abandoned field? Or perhaps in one of those metal storage units? Industrial is seriously in this year, so DR will totally be on trend. Who doesn’t love a bit of edge?

DR have made it clear they performed sound checks ahead of making their decision. The acoustics were good enough for the Foo Fighters who performed at B&W back in June 2011.

What do you think? Will Eurovision Island be an amazing venue? Will they be able to sort out the acoustics? And how many other stray dogs are wandering the island as I type?!

You can keep up-to-date on the latest Eurovision news and gossip by following the team on Twitter @wiwibloggs and by liking our Facebook page.

Wow, cool video of the island. Can’t wait to see the “after”. At least Eurovision isn’t in winter time, that looks even more eerie with the snow.

When I first saw the title of this article, my first inclination was to think boy does Wiwi love to complain! And then I slapped some sense in my noggin’ and said, “Oh shut up Zack, he’s being funny!” Should be interesting!

It will be indoor, not like the Foo Fighters concert.
They will use the two big white buildings for the eurovision concert. The two buildings are connected so it will be like one big hall.
