Yesterday we reported on Lena’s work with the unfortunately named band “Dicks on Fire”, explaining how she features in their new single “Revolution”. The song sounded very familiar, but we thought that was just because it is dated, generic and derivative of proper rock music. As it turns out, the song sounded familiar because it was featured in the doosh showerhead commercial—starring Lena—way back in May. We only realized this when we were looking for a new showerhead that won’t mess up our hair or eyeliner, and ended up on the doosh web site which features the commercial really prominently. You can watch it below.

What is Stefan Raab up to? Was the doosh commercial meant to familiarize people with the song so they’d be more tempted to buy it when they heard it “unveiled” a few days ago? As any psychologist knows the mere exposure effect totally makes us like things we are already familiar with. Sadly I still don’t like this.

Update: As “rantaplan” explains in our comments section below, Stefan Raab owns the patent for the doosh showerhead. The man sure does know how to make money honey!

It is an awesome song and that ad just makes it more amazing!

Let’s hope for a UK release 🙂

Oh and the shower head too.
