Listen: Javine Hylton’s Comeback Single “Never”

Finally, after a seven year hiatus, Javine is back. And once again she’s proving why she’s one of pop’s and Eurovision’s most underrated starlets.

As many of you may remember, despite having seen off the likes of Katie Price and Gina G in the UK national selection, Javine only came a lowly 22nd at Eurovision 2005 with “Touch My Fire“. A fact that particularly annoys me when you consider that the ultimate winner was the awful “My Number One“. Unfortunately for Javine Eurovision wasn’t her only set back and inspite of hits such as “Real Things” she soon found herself languishing in the pop wilderness.

Thankfully, it looks like she may be about to return to the mainstream as she joins forces with WAWA and M.A.R.K. on their latest track “Never”. The song is already making ripples in the music and entertainment press with Digital Spy labeling it an “uptempo club number” while in an 8/10 review Pop Justice called it “quite the belter“. And it has even been played on BBC Radio 1, the UK’s biggest and most influential music station, much to Javine’s delight:

It’s not hard to see what all the fuss is about. Whereas Jade Ewen’s recent foray into dance music was uninspired and dull, “Never” is full of  sass and attitude. And if there’s any justice in the pop world this should join Loreen’s “Euphoria” as a Friday night dance floor staple. Take a listen for yourselves and let us know what y’all think below.
