Doris Dragovic, the most succesfull Croatian Eurovision entrant of all time, has finally come back on the scene! The “Marija Magdalena” singer has revealed new projects after her 10-year hiatus. Hope remains high that her new projects may include Eurovision as well.

Notoriously hesitant to share her private life with the public, Doris broke her unwritten rule on Tuesday and gave an interview to Radio Dalmacija. She spoke openly about why she went into hiding a decade ago.

“At one point, I literally hit a wall,” she said. “I had nothing more to give. I felt like I was going to choke. Inside I was screaming to get away from the scene. I needed to renew and regenerate….This is the life. If it doesn’t develop or progress, it stagnates. Everyone should sometimes stop and draw a line.”

That is some high drama, y’all. Doris copes with it by being extremly religious. “Church means everything to me. I’ve put it on the map and allow God to help me and guide me. He is humbly waiting somewhere outside our doors to open them to him and let him into our lives. Prayer means a lot in everyday life. It reminds me of where I come from and where I’m going and who I am now.”

Exactly one year ago, she held a concert in Lisinski Hall, the host venue of Eurovision 1990. It’s amazing that “Marija Magdalena” sounded as it did in 1999 when it placed fourth at Eurovision!

Should Doris try to win Eurovision again? Are you happy about her comeback? Does white suit her better than Birgit?
