Ivi Adamou—Cyprus’ Eurovision 2012 contestant—was hoping to spread a litttle la la love this holiday season. So she grabbed her jingle bells, headed to the recording studio and tried to cover Mariah Carey’s Christmas classic “All I Want for Christmas.”
Santa is not amused and neither are we.
It’s sweet that Ivi is getting into the Christmas spirit. But this cover is so bad the elves are covering their ears and Rudolph just crashed the sled. Ivi sings that she doesn’t care about the presents under the Christmas tree—and it seems she does not care about pitch and intonation either. Like a judge on the X Factor who can’t believe an amateur has tried to cover Whitney Houston, our jaws hit the floor the moment Ivi started struggling with this…which is pretty early on.
But it’s not her fault. ANYONE would sound karaoke taking on Mariah.

Nothing beats the original but, is it bad that I kinda like it?? xD hahaha She really loves the Christmas tunes.

Well, it may be true that it’s working for you and that it’s from Ivi’s official channel, but it’s blocked in the United States “on copyright grounds.”
