With the Winter Olympics just under 3 weeks away, the Swiss broadcaster SRF have announced that Anna Rossinelli’s new single Shine In The Light will be the official soundtrack for its coverage of the games.
The song is the first release from the band’s (yes, contrary to popular belief Anna Rossinelli is actually a group) latest album Marylou Two, a follow up to last year’s Marylou. And it’s perfect for an event such as this.
The track may lack the immediacy of their 2013 hit Let It Go, but after a few listens it’ll soon be lodged in your brain. In essence it’s a folksy take on the self empowerment anthems popularised by the likes of Katy Perry and P!nk. With feel-good lyrics (which you can read below) describing the Olympians’ triumph over everyday struggles, you too will feel like you can ski off the edge of a mountain. Although that’s probably not advisable.

i love anna!! she deserved to win in 2001 in my opinion! in this song, i love the verse but the chours sounds like anything else song. but annas lovely voice makes the song better, i just hope the group stays at making that kind of songs like in 2011 a feel-good kinda
song instead of switching to the dance genre
