After a prolonged wait, RTVE, Spain’s national broadcaster, has finally released the date of its national selection. Everyone keen to hear Raul, Jorge Gonzalez, La Dama, Ruth Lorenzo and Brequette sing live should mark February 22 in their diary! (Yes, this conflicts with the Dziesma final in Latvia, the song reveal in Macedonia, and the A Dal final in Hungary).
The five competing acts will sing it out in Barcelona in front of a live audience. The jury and televoters will each have a 50% say in who will sing for Spain in Copenhagen. You can listen to their songs here.
If our ongoing poll is anything to go by then Brequete has this thing in the bag. Here is how things stand at the moment.
1. Brequette – Más 359 votes, 56.8%
2. Ruth Lorenzo – Dancing in the Rain 190 votes, 30.06%
3. Jorge González – Aunque se acabe el mundo 44 votes, 6.96%
4. La Dama – Estrella fugaz 30 votes, 4.75%
5. Raúl – Seguir sin ti 9 votes, 1.42%
You have until February 20 at midnight to cast your vote!

Brequette or Ruth will represent Spain this year. For sure, both songs will be in the top5.
Very very strong final in Spain! I like all the songs so whatever they choose they will have a very good entry in the final in Copenhagen.
So many national finals in February 22….I think I’m gonna choose Spain on that date!!! I wanna watch Brequette or Ruth Lorenzo win this!!!! Viva La España!!!!
