At Eurovision 2013 Spain awarded Marco Mengoni 12 points for his song “L’Essenziale”. That has clearly bolstered Marco’s ambitions in the land of siesta. Yesterday he released “Incomparable”, the Spanish-language version of the song.

Italian web site allsongs.tv suggests that Mengoni is hoping to follow in the footsteps of other Italian stars who have made it big in the Latin market, including Tiziano Ferro and Laura Pausini, the first non-Spanish artist to sell more than one million copies of an album in Spain.

As Marco waits to see how his song does in Spain, he’s going to be working the interview circuit at home. He will be a guest on Webnotte, which airs at 21.30 CET on the La Repubblica web site. On Wednesday he’ll chat with Vincenzo Mollica and answer questions from his fans at 14.15 CET on the site of the TG1.

Letra de Incomparable / Spanish lyrics

Lo siento pero hoy
hoy sé que ante la duda hay que arriesgarse
y saco del cajón
Las lágrimas ocultas de algún héroe
he vuelto y aquì estoy

solo pertenece a ti
siempre fuiste para mì incomparable

Así se apaga el sol
Y la ùltima esperanza de los hombres
Nos quedará un abril
para desdibujar las estaciones
No quiero un alma de papel
nì venerar la estupidez

Aunque el mundo cae en pedazos
yo mantengo un sueño a salvo
nuevo y frágil que
solo pertenece a ti
Aunque el mundo se deshace
y el milagro es màs difícil
hoy nos sentimos màs frágiles
regresando a nuestro ayer
siempre fuiste para mi incomparable

El amor nuca entiende de lógica
Es la vida que no se detiene

Aunque el mundo cae en pedazos
yo mantengo un sueño a salvo
nuevo y frágil que
solo pertenece a ti
Aunque el mundo se deshace
y el milagro es màs dificil
hoy nos sentimos mas frágiles
regresando a nuestro ayer
siempre fuiste para mi incomparable

What do you think? Is this set to conquer Spain? Should he released local versions in Albania and Switzerland, which also gave him 12 points at Eurovision?

Sounds beautiful 🙂 So, I liked it and got retweeted by like 22 Italian Marco fans so obviously he’s still going really strong 🙂 Remember if you’d mention him around Eurovision time, all these Italians would talk to you if you use Twitter? xD Loved it haha.

Another Italian singer rerecording a full album for the Spanish market … after Eros, Taziano and Laura Pausini … these have successfully done it and I wish the same for Marco … the other way round seldom if ever takes places sadly … any Spanish singer out there singing and making career in other languages other than Spanish or Spanglish?
