Just when you had forgotten about the French selection for Eurovision 2014, Joanna Lagrave up and releases a new version of her entry “Ma Liberté”. The new version has a Zlata Ognevich, Gravity-esque opening and, judging from comments on Facebook, has elevated the song to a new level.

Joanna isn’t just bringing her A game. She’s also bring some PR. Today’s release comes just days before the voting lines close on February 23. It also follows the English-language release of her song. Do you think all the campaigning will work? And what do you think of the new version of her song?

If moustache wins they will have so much negative publicity around them no one will vote for them. Their song IS plagiarism! I much prefer Joanna’s classy song

I love both her and twin twin… But this new version looks like it is inspired by Jena Lee – J’aimerais tellement (one of my favorite songs)… Not very original…

This goes from Very good to brilliant! Some quality music to contrast the stupid and boringly repetative twin twin song. Very sad to see that most people on this site are very noise oriented cause they believe they are being cool! You are cool if you recognize good music and not rave about a plagiarized song. Having said that , each and every one of us is entitled to an opinion! Good luck to France whichever way they decide to take it!

Sounds nice! But, yea, there is this dip in the chorus and it’s like a drop that doesn’t really show off her voice when you’re expecting to hear it more. Still my front runner ahead of Twin Twin.

Its…..different I think they should have went with a more mysterious tone rather than a heavier sound. She should try to sing more powerful.

TwinTwin may possess and intelligent song. But that message isn’t clear in first listen. Joanna has immediate impact and in that are she will trump TwinTwin any day.

It’s still as bad as the first version, personally I think that the song ‘moustache’ is a better entry as it shows a different approach to how they normally are during Eurovision-which is terrible and boring,it brings a upbeat and comedy style feel.

I still prefer Twin Twin, and I have major doubts as to whether she can pull this off live. Her Chansons D’Abord performance was very patchy 😐

I think the juries will be happy with her in Eurovision… I like it… but I still prefer Twin Twin 😛

This version is definitely better. It adds some extra power to the song. I still don’t think it will do too well in Copenhagen, but I don’t think any of the French songs will.
