If you believe the official TV schedules and advertisements, then Boyuk Sehne, Azerbaijan’s national selection for Eurovision 2014, takes place tonight at 19:00 CET. But if you believe the photos that have been circulating on Instagram and on various Eurovision fan sites, then the competition has already taken place—and Dilara Kazimova will be singing in Copenhagen.

That’s right people. Yesterday our friends at Eurovision Turkey reported that tonight’s “live” final was actually pre-recorded on February 28. And to support the claim some of our readers have tweeted us the following images they found on Instagram.

Instagram Dilar Kazimova wins Azerbaijan

We love Dilara Kazimova’s voice. Her performance of “Mercy” was stellar, and if she sings a similarly soulful song in Copenhagen Azerbaijan can threaten for the title once again.

Our readers seem to agree. Over the past few days y’all cast a total of 281 votes in our Boyuk Sehne poll and Dilara earned more than half of them. Here are the complete results:

Boyuk Sehne Poll Results

1. Dilara Kazimova 158 votes, 56.23%

2. Khana Hasanova 80 votes, 28.47%

3. Erkin Osmanli 43 votes, 15.3%

What do you think of Dilara? Do you think she’ll be a good representative for Azerbaijan?

@D you’re wrong, most countries do not buy songs and entire production abroad.. year after year.
The high ranked politicians from other countries don’t bs about greatest achievement of Azeri nation and its brilliant culture.. Yes, that’s what they said when Nikki& whatever his name is, have won ESC with swedish production))

Why does everybody complain that Azerbaijan gets their songs from other countries. They’re not the only ones who do that…..and also why are you complaining? Would you rather have bad Azerbaijani-produced/written songs or good Swedish/Greek-produced/written songs? Jeez people.

In AZ its all about who has the richest or best connected parents.. so no wonder they know who’s won before they start… How about an AZ song too rather than buying one in?

@David Thielen,
It’s a jury voting, the winner is not selected by televoters. So there’s no cheating.
I’m sorry, but what you wrote is offensive and insulting. You can’t generalize and judge the whole people by their government’s frauds and mistakes. There are millions of people still fighting and hoping for an uncorrupted future “in the country of Azerbaijan”. You’re insulting those people. This is a song contest, don’t kill the musical spirit of the contest.

It was actually Dilara’s mistake. As she won the contest, she wrote it on her Facebook. Then she deleted her post, but it was already late. She had to be more responsible, I like the results though.

I don’t think anyone in the country of Azerbaijan knows how to hold an actual election.

Impossible was written by very talented azeri songwriters.. AHAHAHA)) sounds funny isn’t?
The real authors are, as always from Sweden- Stefan Örn, Didrik Thott abd Christian Fast.

Probably true, Azerbaijan doesn’t usually conduct televoting, do they?

Anyways, she was the best singer by far. If her song is anyway decent, she will enter my top 5. She’s got a brilliant voice.

There is no televote, it’s only jury. That’s why it was prerecorded
Duh.

Seems sort of odd, but I can’t complain since Dilara is amazing.

Apparently she has won with a song called impossible. Which wouldn’t surprise me since the vast majority of Azerbaijan’s national selections are 100% jury.
And lets face it Azerbaijan isn’t exactly the most liberal and uncorrupted as some western countries.
