During the first four installments of our weekly poll, “Who is Your Favourite Eurovision Contestant so Far?”, it’s been all about the Latin ladies. Italy’s Emma Marrone won the first three weeks, and then Spain’s Ruth Lorenzo entered the race and stomped past her.

Now things are really heating up. By Tuesday evening a total of 19 countries had revealed their songs and artists. Since we last checked in Poland has confirmed a song that features some daring social commentary. Romania has chosen a pair of beloved Eurovision veterans. And the United Kingdom has gotten serious, internally selecting what many think is its strongest entry in years. Estonia, France, Ireland, and Lithuania all have strong cases to make for themselves, too!

You can listen to each of this year’s confirmed contestants by clicking on their song below or by visiting our contestants page. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you like but you can only vote ONE time. Be sure to click the box next to each act you want to support. This poll will close on Saturday March 8 at midnight. Start voting noooooooow.

Although I am British so I may be a little biased, I LOVE our entry this year! I think Molly could do really really well 🙂 I hope Europe loves our song too! I don’t like Romania’s song very much this year, I’m not sure how it is so popular! The only two I really love are United Kingdom and France, Twin Twin are brilliant!

I hate Poland and Lithuania’s entry. It is just noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello wiwiblog friends! New problem for Ruth Lorenzo in Spain… :s :s http://www.formulatv.com/noticias/36274/director-rae-inquietud-rtve-ruth-lorenzo-cante-ingles-eurovision/ http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/2078115/0/rae-inquietud/uso-ingles/cancion-espana-eurovision/ http://www.laverdad.es/murcia/v/20140307/gente/critica-ruth-lorenzo-ingles-20140307.html Now The RAE (The Real Academia Española – Royal Spanish Academy) sent a formal complaint to TVE because Ruth Lorenzo is going to sing in English in Eurovision. According to RAE they sent this complaint because they recieved “a lot of viewers complaints” and “South America is angry with Spain because they won’t sing in Spanish in Eurovision” ——— I’m from Spain and The old RAE is inventing this polemic, is not Spaniards or South America, simply THEY don’t want to see Ruth singing in… Read more »

@Charles: Don’t worry about Poland being too successful when the contest actually comes if you’re concerned about that… they got lots of fan support in 2011, then finished last. They seem to suffer from a lower amount of neighbor voting, despite being in Eastern Europe. (Although in 2011, the rumored problems with the early voting may well have been another issue here.) The jury might really hurt them with this one. Then again I haven’t seen what the live performance is like, so who knows. As far as the image issue goes, check out the article Will wrote on how… Read more »

Before I loose any part of my brain … why all this love beyond understanding for the crappy hip-poppish ethnic polish song? Just trying to understand it, if this is understandable at all … Polish girls showing breasts, one girl sounding like the Polish version of Fergie?? Really?? Montenegro part II? You either go ethnic and try not to make these girls look like sluts in a Kim Kardashian-esque way … or you go hip-pop and make yourself look silly. Both at the same time: awful combination. I find this insulting for the image it portrays of Polish women. 🙁… Read more »

@Ohi: Rather coming from a another “Home” great song than from another piece of David Guetta crap! I embrace indie, folk into the contest … otherwise Eurovision would be just another gay club with music sounding the same boring way … beats, beats, beats, ethnic yelling and jumping .. interrupted by unwanted ballads … and seriously crafted songs. And this is seriously one well crafted song … very unpopular … because it’s not a silly dance tune … non–gay in other words.

My absolute favourites remain the same: Hungary, Malta and Spain. I do respond positively to both the UK and Ireland. Everything else is average or pure rubbish specially France, Iceland, Ukraine and Poland. Having three favourites in a group of almost 40 songs is not bad considering that there has been years like 2000 or 2004 where there was ZERO songs I couldn’t even like. There is a huge downfall in quality entries this year in my opinion compared to 2010-2013 but thank God for my 3 favs otherwise this would be another disaster in the same vein as almost… Read more »
