Freaky Fortune & Riskykidd, the Greek contestants at Eurovision 2014, appeared on ALPHA TV over the weekend to discuss their song “Rise Up” and their imminent trip to Copenhagen. Wearing shirts with the phrase #RiseUp, the Greek representatives appeared relaxed and were very chatty. You need to be when you’re starting a revolution.

“We hoped for it, we worked for it. However we didn’t expect it,” they said.

During the show’s final minutes, Riskykidd crossed his fingers, and then said “the feeling is amazing”.

“I didn’t realize what the result would mean. I still don’t,” admitted group member Theofilos Mpouzmpouris.

Nikolaos Raptakis, the lead singer of Freaky Fortune, said that when the results were announced he blacked out. Dude nearly fainted.

“We hope Greece stands by us in Copenhagen, just like it did during the national final,”  he said.

“We are now discussing about promo tours and promotions. Nothing is sure yet, as everything has happened very quickly” admitted the young singers. “We generally want to bring ambition in the contest, which is necessary in our country these days. There is need to touch the younger people who watch the contest” they continued.

In the coming weeks Freaky Forune and Riskykidd will be busy preparing themselves for the second half of the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, which will take place at Copenhagen and its B&W Hall.
