Rona Nishliu, the dread-locked Albanian Kosovar who represented Albania back in 2012 with the song “Suus”, has gone global.

Ealier this week Galina Konakh, a contestant on the 4th season of “Holos Krayiny”, Ukraine’s version of “The Voice”, tackled the English version of Rona’s “Suus”. The performance had soul and drama and some powerhouse vocals. It’s no wonder the audience stood up and clapped before her performance had even ended.

Ani Lorak, a new judge on the show, loved the performance so much that she pressed her button relatively early in the performance and claimed Galina for her team. Galina will advance to the next round and we all wish her the very best in her journey! With Ani Lorak—she of “Shady Lady” fame—on her side, we are sure she’ll do very well indeed.

Incredible voice of this woman. Rona Nishliu always improves the song but I must say that the song is super hard to sing. Sad song, but “Suus” is one of my favorites in my entire life.
Bravo Albania, and also to Galina Konakh bravo!
Greetings from Spain.

I’m not impressed. Nobody can equal, nevermind top the amazingly unique Rona Nishliu.

Nevertheless, kudos for trying. I would never dare.

It’s okay, but such a setting and distorted focus really doesn’t allow “Suus” to be adequately expressed. The song is bigger than the venue.
