On March 20 we asked our readers to let us know who will win the second semi-final of Eurovision 2014.  You guys were eager to vote for your favourites. In just two weeks we have recorded a total of 8,216 votes.

At the moment Eurovision veterans Paula Seling & Ovi have a commanding lead with 1,722 votes, or around 21%. In recent weeks they released a folk version and an acoustic version of their song “Miracle”. Both were stunning. Is it possible they will improve on their third place finish from Oslo?

Greece’s Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd are currently second with their song “Rise Up”. They earned 946 votes, or nearly 12%. They recently released their own acoustic video. But rather than covering their own track, they covered a series of Eurovision winners including “Only Teardrops”, “Euphoria” and “Wild Dances”. Check ’em out and be blown away.

Slovenia’s Tinakra Kovach—perhaps the only woman in Eurovision history to sexualise the flute—is in third with her number “Spet/Round and Round.” She’s sitting pretty with 698 votes, or around 9%.

Based on our poll, the other seven qualifiers for the final will be: Ireland, Israel, Norway, Malta, Austria, Poland and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Based our current standings, Finland, Switzerland, Lithuania, Georgia, and Belarus will not qualify.

You still have several weeks to vote in our poll, so share the link and support your favourites! You can also read our reviews of all 37 songs on the Wiwi Jury page.

Belarus is last here and 4th in your overall Top 37 Polls… Something weird… I so wanna TEO to qualify but mainstream tastes and politics will loose him, SADLY. Whatever, he’s my winner forever !!

All the songs at the bottom deserves to be there except Switzerland which will qualify instead of Romania which sucks ass! How can people like that shit??? It’s so cheap n tasteless. Israel should be the clear winner in this semi final followed by Austria, Switzerland and then Greece. Everything else should disqualify for being absolute shit! Okay, maybe ,maybe Poland should not be disqualified as well.

lets be honest, there are only 6 songs that the eurovision public really want to see go through and they are in running order : Israel,Norway,Finland,Ireland,Greece and Romania. i know some people obviously have different taste and don’t want toe ee some of the above qualify but when you look at everyone top 10 to qualify these are generally the songs you see there. i think you can rule out Belarus (very little voting strength in this semi when pretty much everyone in this semi has allies) and Georgia (the song is just so bad that i don’t think even… Read more »

Romania / Ireland / Greece / Slovenia / Macedonia

Just these. All the others could stay on the semi 2 and give rise to much better songs that won’t qualify on semi 1.

Funny this positioning does not really match the overall-betting odds. Anyway, neither the hardcore eurofans nor the bets alone will decide the results on the actual nights.
I would, however, place Israel and Austria higher.

I agree with the fact that Eurovision wants something different every year but I don’t think the time is right for Greece. Sorry.

SO.YOU THINK THAT GREECE’S SONG IS NOT FOR EUROVISION?EUPHORIA WAS FOR EUROVISION?AND WHAT’S THE RECIPE?ONLY BORING BALLADS?SO I GUESS THAT ARMENIA CAN’T WIN WITH DUBSTEP AS THE BETS SHOW?
I TOTALLY DISAGREE.EVERY YEAR THEY’RE SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND NOT COPY PASTE.

Deven O'Kearney

I think that Ireland or Romania will win this semi final. Greece’s song is NOT a song for the Eurovision Song Contest and the juries will detest their entry.

I still can’t forget last year, when Montenegro placed 4th in the tele voting, and 14th with the juries. And then got the 12th place? That makes no sense. If it was 50% with both, it would have placed around 8th place overall. It’s ridiculous.

Dhani

Poland is the best!! I really want Poland to qualify cause i think it’s the best this year!! I know it can’t win, and it’s probably going to do well in the tele votes, but the jury’s will place it around last, like Montenegro last year because we still have the weird horrible voting system like last year!!! I would also like to see some countries, who usually not gets in to the final, qualify. It have become too predictable with almost the same countries every year getting into the final , and the same countries every year not qualifying.… Read more »
