The Danes may have decided to build the Eurovision 2014 stage in a derelict warehouse, but that hasn’t stopped them from polishing it into the finest of diamonds. The first images of the Eurovision stage are out and we totally approve.
The stage will be diamond-shaped and placed just in front of the backstage, where artists will cross their fingers and get excited, happy, furious and anxious. This is actually the traditional setting during the DMGP, the Danish national final. A tall LED screen and another one infront of it, consisting of many cubes fitted together. This feature will give B&W Hall a unique industrial look, just like the one it used to have some decades ago, when it was used as a shipyard. These first images were revealed during the press day at Eurovision In Concert in Amsterdam.
DR selected this event to show the very first stage images. We were live on the scene and can confirm that Eurofans got really excited, clapping about what the crazy Danes have managed to do.
Organisers had set as a goal to connect the slogan, the stage and the general design, and they have surely succeeded in that.
We also had the chance to preview three postcards: from Austria, Finland and the Netherlands. As in Sweden the postcards offer us a glimpse into the lives of the contestants, but they are more colorful and vibrant.
In Austria’s we see Conchita pushing a rack of red and white dresses through the snow to the Opera House. She arranged them and they eventually form the Austrian flag. Finland does this with a block of ice on a boat, and Holland does this with flowers on a boat in an Amsterdam canal. They are lovely and the theme music is great.

I visited the place a week ago and there is absolutely no sign in the surrounding area of what is to come. It looked like it is, a disused shipyard complete with a submarine on stilts, a paint balling area and piles of tyres. Very un-eurovision.
No audience high fives I guess
Hmmm… now the render you included in the edited post looks different from the rest, now I wonder how exactly the final stage will look like…
One thing is sure, it sure does look a lot bigger and more spectacular than Malmo’s, but not as big as Moscow’s (which I think is good)

It might be just be the pictures but I don’t think it looks that amazing, I like the idea of the green room being right behind the stage doors like in Oslo and dussledorf, but I don’t like how the green room is actually in the audience :/
Looks like the Baku stage from 2012. I like it anyway, I hope it looks marvellous in real.
My only concern is, won’t the stage be too far away from the audience if the green room is set in front of it? And I don’t really see a diamond shape; I see a square shape.
From the instant they showed the logo months ago I knew they would make the stage in a diamond shape, it was so obvious 😛

Denmark from 2010 have best stage in their national final before that Sweden had the best stage in MF.
