It’s a sad day for all you Timoteij fans out there. The girls have officially confirmed the devastating news that Johanna Pettersson, who is best known for playing the violin, has left the group.

Here’s the full statement Johanna released on Twitter today:

I’M LEAVING TIMOTEIJ! After four amazing years the time has now come for me to move on to work on my dancing career. I’m excited about what the future holds for me, and I’m starting off with spreading my wings in New York this summer. I would like to thank the girls and wish them good luck with their career. Of course I would also like to thank all of my/our beautiful fans for everything you’ve done and do.You’re wonderful! Love Johanna.

Timoteij have already removed Johanna’s image from their official web site.

The girls (including Johanna) made their Melodifestivalen debut in 2010 with their entry “Kom”, which eventually finished 5th in the final. They returned in 2012 with “Stormande Hav”, only to be knocked out by eventual finalists Top Cats in the Second Chance round.

Johanna will be sorely missed. Sniff. From everyone at WiwiBloggs.com, good luck with your new endeavours!
