Mariya Yaremchuk, Ukraine’s Eurovision 2014 contestant, has a lot more than a hamster wheel in her bag of tricks. During today’s first full run-through she pulled back the curtains to reveal a stunning new dress. That’s right people: Mariya offers us a window to her beauty, and now she has the dress to match!
Anna Osmekhina, the Ukrainian designer and fashion editor for Cosmopolitan, dreamed up the sexy gown, which features black ropes that roll down from the waistline. “We wanted to show the great symbiosis for every women – power and tenderness of feminity,” says stage director Olena Koliadenko. “We searched for something that could bring this symbol to every viewer, to underline the special part of Mariya’s song Tick-Tock and her character itself, to bring magic to the stage in every bit of stage presentation.”
Osmekhina and Koliadenko drew up the first design on a plain napkin. They thought the dress should be black. Then Mariya chimed in and they decided to go for the “more noble color” blue. The dress is made from scoured silk that gives it the appearance of being covered in dust. Drama, honey!
The entire costume was crafted in a day and a half. “Mariya is very lucky girl,” says Osmekhina. “Everything worked like a clock – it’s tick-tock in design actually! We found everything – from materials to accessories – really quick and that happens rarely in my line of work.”
Mariya’s odds continue to narrow with the bookies. Maybe the dress will tip her over to victory?

Oh people who are against her…stop nit-picking!
She’s beautiful & she’s going to win it, period.
Mary is the best and has a great chance of winning) gorgeous dress, beautiful setting and song)))
Good luck to Ukraine!!
I like his dress much more than previous one. I want say that Mariya is getting better with every rehearsal – thats great. We can see that she works hard.
I prefer her hair long. She looked prettier in the music video.
Dont think that this song is overrated – its perfect for Eurovision. Much better than different boring ballads
@Easpag. Yes, last minute decisions like that without a decent trial period are risky.
@Eugene. No, you have not yet learned the plot. By all means enjoy developing your own ideas, but don’t confuse them with reality. Keep calm and think twice.
For me she is a 21 years old beautiful girl ,who wants to look older and tries kinda hard to look hot (though some people Do call her hot ) . But well I am not fan of her song either ,but the show looks good (I am talking about light effects) ..I like her dress too ( It would be even cool on Kesay Smith or Ruth Lorenzo ).
Good luck anyways !
As per usual, Ukraine put together a fantastic effort in the staging of their song.
My only fear is that Mariya may get tangled up in the hamster wheel, with all of those ropes hanging out of her :/
This song is overrated. Sounds like something off Hits for kidz 49.
