Last week, after Paula Seling & Ovi unveiled the staging of “Miracle” during the second semi-final, we asked you which was your favourite Paula Seling and Ovi Eurovision entry. It appears that you prefer “Playing With Fire” — albeit by a very small margin.

With a total of 1,518 votes cast, “Playing With Fire” emerged as the winner with 764 votes. “Miracle” was not far behind with 754. If this were a political race, the result would be a tie!

Meanwhile, we have learned that “Playing With Fire” was the televoters and juries downright favourite as well. After placing third in 2010, the Romanian duo finished on the 12th position on the 10th of May.

What do you think was behind the disappointing result of Paula and Ovi’s second attempt at Eurovision victory?

I had already hoped it wouldn’t end as high as everyone thought. Despite Paula vocally being very strong. The screaming part didn’t fit into the song at all. To me it sounded kind of cheap especially the piano. It wasn’t original. And it lacked every good element that playing with fire had. It didn’t come as a surprise to me.

I would not say their result was disappointing. They should be very proud of this year’s result. The performance & staging in 2010 was so exciting. They started on the piano but as the song climaxes Paula & Ovi were standing at the front of the stage, dancing around. Throw in flames (very relevant to the song) and the effect was spectacular! The staging of Miracle was not so exciting. It was good, I have no complaints, but it did not compare to 2010. Also the sight of Ovi playing the piano looked a bit silly when you could clearly… Read more »

Miracle is ok, but Playing with Fire was the moral winner of 2010.

At least they didn’t flop. They’re possibly the best Romanian act to be sent.

I liked ‘Playing with fire’ much more than ‘Miracle’. I thought ‘Playing with fire’ deserved to win, while ‘Miracle’ obtained an OK result. Read somewhere that based on 2010 voting system, ‘Miracle’ would have been 8th this year…I don’t think 12th is bad. I know they are professional and so on, but this cannot compensate 100% for the song. The song was just OK. The only songs that I think were worse than ‘Miracle’ from top 10 were from Russia & Denmark. Then there are songs that I don’t think are better, but not worse either than Miracle, like Sweden’s,… Read more »

Not so useless vote

The poll reflects exactly my opinion on these songs, both are almost the same to me, I just like Playing with Fire slightly more 😛 I think the main factor as to why they didn’t do that well this time is because not only their song but the whole performance was more generic, I mentioned this in another article, the double crystal piano looked awesome on stage and it was actually an active part of the performance, the round piano this year for most part of the act is just… there, looking awkward. Also the idea of the hologram sounded… Read more »

Playing was fire was catchier but not better. I think both songs were great.

Nothing much since they were contented with presenting a “generic song” that would just humbly welcome the Europeans to get along together in this this year’s contest. I still like Playing with Fire, however.

Disappointing?! Compared to Dana International and Niamh, it’s a great accomplishment that they scored on the left side of the scoreboard!
