We don’t know why Eurovision alum Robin Stjernberg recently bathed in a tub of M&Ms, but we can understand why he’d have sweets on the mind. This year’s Eurovision was a feast for cakeaholics as it featured not one, but two songs all about cake. Mmm

Latvia’s Aarzemnieki brought the feel-good number “Cake to Bake”, while Belarus’ Teo performed “Cheesecake”. The latter made the final, while the former fell in the semi. It’s a sad day when Europeans give up on cake, y’all.

Now that Aarzemnieki have licked their wounds (and their baking pans), we want to know: in retrospect, which cake do you prefer? You can review both acts below and can then vote in our poll. You can only vote once, so make those calories count.

Actually none.
Belarus was my 35th.
Latvia was my 33th.

So i would prefer Latvia 🙂

Without doubt Latvia of course. “Cake to bake” is such a fun and catchy song. “Cheesecake” however, is a ridiculous and annoying song. One of the worst songs of the year and a very undeserved finalist imo. Latvia should have qualified.

Definitely Belarus! Words might be nonsense but it’s funky and musically far more interesting. The choreography supported the song perfectly in performance and the backup dancers were handsome as well. The Latvian song sounds like they made it up on the spot.

Tough choice. I like both songs quite a bit. Latvia’s Semi final performance was quite disappointing however while Belarus was quite entertaining.

Didn’t like either and I think Belarus deserved to have the same fate Latvia did, but if I must choose I’d pick Belarus just due to the fact that I found the performance more well put together and his vocals were smoother.

The lyrics made the difference for me. Aarzemnieki’s were witty and the lad who says “piece of cake” does so with an immaculate English accent.
Conversely, I could hardly understand a word Yuriy was singing and when I did look them up, they were poor. But I give him credit for tweeting congratulations to Conchita so quickly and therefore against the hateful grain of his compatriots.

Bad delivery at the final but i liked the song as it was a bit of fun. Brought a few smiles to peoples faces!!! Cheesecake was the most annoying song at the contest this year.

By very little, since they were both very good, Latvia. Love Teo too though.

I got a little tired this year of the comparision of these two songs when a) they have nothing to do with each other and b) Cheesecake is not even about cake! But oh well.
Cheesecake was definitely a better entry, Cake to Bake was cute at first but the final delivery was terribly underwhelming.
