Some broadcasters are faster off the marks than others. Norway – fresh from a second consecutive year in the Top 10 – are beginning the hunt for their 2015 act now.Melodi Grand Prix 2015 coordinator Vivi Stenberg told Eurovision.tv that she’s, “looking for songs that can win the Eurovision Song Contest…[and] that reflect the music we are good at producing here in Norway, and that is fortunately incredibly diverse.”

Six hundred songs were entered for MGP 2014 which was down from the 800 songs entered for MGP 2012. Voting figures have also dropped significantly from MGP year-on-year. Margaret Berger received over 90,000 votes – more than Linnea Dale and Carl Espen’s total votes combined.

Norway has delivered a huge variety of songs in recent years and Team Wiwi cannot wait to see what they come up with next year.

The deadline for song submissions closes on September 1st 2014.

Silent Storm was my favourite song this year. I Feed You My Love was my second favourite in 2013. Norway are doing well. I hope they keep up the standard.

Silent Storm was actually my favorite for 2014. Odd for me since I normally don’t care for ballads. Glad he made top 10 at least.

Too bad they won’t take foreign compositions (that’s what I made from the automatic translation of the Norwegian text). Anyway, it is great they are encouraging local musicians, composers and singers to take part!!

I hope MGP keeps it classy like last year. And uses the same hosts!
