As part of our newest feature, “Who Did It Better?”, we recently asked you to choose who used the rainbow to greater effect with their Eurovision costumes. We can now reveal that Pollapönk, the children’s punk band from Iceland, nailed it. They outshined Lou, the German contestant from 11 years ago.

[polldaddy poll=8106752]

Pollapönk originally won Söngvakeppnin in February. Their bright tracksuits seemed to distract the televoting audience from the runner-up, who performed an annoying swing number (you’d forget it if it weren’t for the nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah’s). When they travelled to Copenhagen, they ditched the tracksuits and opted for tuxedos instead, still in their respective colors. Throughout their time in Denmark, they modeled bathrobeswalked the runway in dresses and even worked out in their hotel gym wearing their colors. This definitely paid off, as they shocked everyone by qualifying for the final and ultimately placing 15th (their best result since 2009).

Our “Who Did It Better?: Disco Ball Edition” is still open. Vote here!

I’m happy Pollaponk won this, even though not many people voted. I voted for them twice.
