Summer is here, and you know what that means? Pool parties, barbecues, and best of all, open-air concerts! In the past, Eurovision acts such as Mandinga fulfilled the demand for a catchy tune with a laid-back, fun vibe. However, after falling flat on their face with their new singles, and after a contest full of ballads and slower anthems in Copenhagen, we were almost out of luck to find a Eurovision dance song we could blast all summer. Fortunately, five countries came to the rescue this year, and we have a barely-there playlist to blast at our sleeping neighbors. However, we need a bit of help deciding who should be the highlight…

You can listen to five of our favourite dance songs from this year’s contest below. Then vote for your favourite! You can only vote for one song, so make it count…

Portugal of couse! Even if you don’t understand a word, you’ll allways sing wa wa we wa we!! “Quero ser tua” is a very catchy song and very good to dance!

Pre-defining choices isn’t exactly a choice. Anyhow, my personal summer hit of 2014 is, hands down, ‘When the beat drops out’ by Marlon Roudette.

Suzy’s song could be included in the World Cup compilation! Such a fun song! A shame it didn’t qualify.

Greece’s song could be charting in Western charts, it’s modern and uplifting

I think Lithuania’s song should be added to the list.

I’m sorry to say but I think Denmark’s song will get slightly annoying when you play it over and over again. Tijana’s “To the Sky” is good and so is “Rise Up” by Freaky Fortune and Risky Kidd. “Moustache” and “Quero Ser Tua” were pretty average.

This should be opened up to remixes. In that case ‘children of the universe’ and ‘dancing in the rain’.*

‘To the Sky’ is really overlooked and is allready my summer tune.

*british summer.

Not really a “summer hit”, but the only song that still makes some effort in the charts and on radio here in Germany is… the Netherlands and “Calm after the storm” (even though I still do not really get the huge hype about it)
