In her dance floor stomper “Busy Doin’ Nothin'” Ace Wilder tells us she’s “busy, busy, busy doin’ nothin’ at all.” That’s a tad inaccurate. While we were shaking our thing and dropping it like it’s hot, Miss Wilder was busy recording an acoustic version of her electronic hit, which placed second at Sweden’s national selection back in March.

The new acoustic version is sumptuous and slow, and showcases the sultrier side of Ace (née Alice Kristina Ingrid Gernandt). With flashes of Tori Amos, she proves she’s more than a woman who can work a synthesizer. The new tempo almost makes the song poetic—a meditation on young people’s expectations about work. (More on that here).

Although Ace has already ruled out returning to Melodifestivalen this year, we’re hopeful that she’ll continue to sing in addition to writing songs for other people. She’s too talented to stay behind-the-scenes.

The acoustic version makes the song crapier than the original version (Which also was veeeeeeeeeeery crapy).

It’s not that bad, I actually kinda like it, but I agree with sopon, it kills the original essense and mood of the song, I also would prefer new music from her!

Sort of kills the vibe of the song. The lyrics don’t fit with a slower melody.
