When life gives you lemons, you better make some lemonade—especially when it’s, like, 30 degrees in sultry Lisbon. That’s exactly what the team from wiwibloggs did on Thursday. We’re traveling to Setubal for the 50th anniversary concert of the Portuguese Eurovision fan club. While checking into our Lisbon hotel it emerged that the receptionist was none other than Miss Daniela Varela, the lead singer of Flor-de-Lis, the folk group that sang for Portugal at Eurovision 2009!
As you can see in the video below, Daniela has slimmed down a lot since Moscow. She’s lost a whopping 20kg and credits going vegetarian for her trimmer, healthier look. Daniela now splits her time working in tourism and performing with Flor-de-Lis. They’re currently working on an album, which she tells us is a bit more alternative than the mainstream sound they brought to Eurovision.
