The already massive Common Linnets have just turned another page—and it’s decorated with holly and tinsel!  Yes, Ilse and co are part of a new Christmas album.

An Americana Christmas” drops on the 14th of October, and will include musical icons from Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan to Neil Young and Emmylou Harris. The Common Linnets are the greenest ducklings of the bunch, as they are the only artists who haven’t received an award from the Americana Music Association and have also never had an Americana hit in the USA…yet. That said, the group has quickly emerged as the European Americana act of the moment following Eurovision.

Ilse needed to pause and cheer for a moment when she found out about this amazing opportunity. She said it’s a great dream of hers to make an album with her musical heroes.

We all know the Common Linnets for their amazing second place finish and two Marcel Bezencon Awards at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen. But the story kept going after ESC when Ilse and Waylon decided to break up. The Common Linnets, which was always meant to be Ilse’s personal project rather than an ongoing collaboration, decided to go further and look for other male singers to cycle in and out of the group.

The group is busy making a second album, but names and dates have not yet been announced.

I’d love to see Common Linnets perform stateside. Waylon’s replacement is, of course, from South Carolina…

The Common Linnets would be perfect on Austin City Limits, a concert show shown in the USA on various public television stations.
