Dobro vecer! According to dnevnik.mk, MRT—Macedonia’s state broadcaster—has received 180 songs for Skopje Fest, this year’s national selection.

Valentino Skenderovski, the director of Skopje Fest, says that most of the songs have already been chosen. But the list is not yet final. Keen to boost viewer numbers, they are reaching out to well-known performers and songwriters. Looks like a colorful contest awaits.

And while all looks well on the artist front, MRT also announced that the date of the show has been changed due to a national holiday. You’d have expected them to consider that while planning the show in the first place! In any event, the first national final of the season will be held on 12 November and we can’t wait.

Rumours are already swirling about potential candidiates. So far we’ve heard Vera Jankovik, Aleksandar Tarabunov, and Lambe Alabakovski, who won Skopje Fest last year. There’s also a former Eurovision contestant in the mix, as word has it Vlatko Ilievski (Eurovision 2011) wants another go. We’re not sure if we’re ready to forgive him for this. Are you?

I actually loved Vlatko’s performance in 2011, he was one of my favourites that year.

If Vlatko doesn’t have hand flaps in the music video, I’ll feel quite betrayed.
