In 2012 Dutch Junior Eurovision entrant Femke Meines said she had “Geen tijd” (No time) in her song “Tik Tak Tik”. But a few years later she has a new complaint with her single and video “Geen zin om naar school te gaan” (Don’t want to go to school).
Her new single, which she wrote together with her father Anne Kees Meines, talks about the difficulty of getting up and going to school. The struggle waking up early in the morning, cycling in the rain without a rainsuit and the boring, boring lessons.
In the video clip she endures a lesson, and survives by dreaming that she is a superhero. Saving the school from bullies and helping her crush’s basketball team are all part of a day’s work.
