When Nadezhda Misyakova finally won the Belarusian national selection for Belarus, she was stoked—and for good reason. She had three goes and it was third time lucky for the little hawk impersonator. Now she’s taking competition very seriously, as she explained to Belarus’s TVR.BY.

Several times a week I have vocal and choreography lessons. Now I also take part in various concerts. It helps to get used to the performance, to the image and song.

Nadezhda isn’t just preparing for the big day. She is also attending school, doing her homework and studying for exams.

Owing to a new arrangement of her song Sokol, she and her dancers have to perfect a whole new routine for the big stage in Malta. We really hope it’s top notch!

You can watch Sokol below, as well as an interview with Nadezhda.
